Red Sox Hitting and Fielding report Card
/*-/*-/*-/*/*-/*-/*-/*-/*-/*
In today's Blog we're going to take a look back at the Red Sox hitting and Fielding and how it stacks up against other teams.
Let's start with the great defense that the Red Sox have. They already have 72 errors, in 29 games Nomah already has 5 errors, that's almost an error every 6 games. That's much too high for any shortstop. Take Pokey in 66 games he has 6 errors, that an error every 11 games or about one every other week, that's not too bad seeing all of the amazing catches that he does make that other second basemen and shortstops couldn't ever be able to make.

AH How did that get up here, well anyways. (Ok for some reason this picture isn't showing up at this time, check back later and maybe it'll pop up.)

Quickly moving over to the batting side of the Sox, as a team they're hitting a .278 which ties them with the Cardinals for 5th best in baseball. They have scored 496 runs which is 3rd in baseball. 881 hits, which is 4th best in baseball. They also have 124 home runs which is 4th best in baseball. the Sox lead the major leagues with a .358 on base percentage. Manny Ramirez is third in the AL with a .342 batting average. He leads the league with 26 home runs, David Ortiz is right behind him with 24 home runs. David leads the league with 83 RBI while Manny is third with 77 ribbies.

Overall I have to give the Sox fielding a C-, they have looked pathetic in games they've given up 67 unearned runs. That's just great fielding, errors have killed them early this season and if they want a chance to do anything in the playoffs they need to learn to field.
hitting they get an A-, sure they're not the powerhouse that they were last year but to still be in the top 5 in all the major batting stats is great.
